About the Antman

If music is a celebration of life then Australian musician-producer Ant Aggs’ life has been one big never-ending party. Sharing his revelry with the world, Aggs has played to audiences 15,000 strong in Europe, concerts in Asia & the Mid East, and major festivals in Australia—Big Day Out, Livid, Woodford Folk Festival, East Coast Blues & Roots—as well as making appearances at Fashion Rocks, the Sydney Music Festival and the Vans Warped Tour.

He combines his love of playng live with his love of producing and recording, and as well as kickin beats in his own studio, has been found collaborating with Dave Atkins (Wolfmother/Resin Dogs), Spikey T (Rae & Christian), Ian Haug (Powderfinger) and Gift Of Gab (Blackalicious).

As a founding and former member of critically acclaimed world beat-funk visionaries Afro Dizzi Act, Ant took listeners on a journey to all corners of the globe. In 2005 the group were the first western music act to tour North East India. The act is signed to Vitamin Records Australia and has work licensed to US label Ubiquity. They have graced the international stage as guests of Jazz Mahjalis (Dubai) and The Jazzmandu Festivals (Nepal).

“Music is a great way to see the world,” says Aggs. Years spent touring as one of Australia’s premier hip hop synth players—part of the award winning act Resin Dogs—has given him the chance to see the world and the Australian countryside.

Ant is now preparing is debut solo album, slated for release mid 2012
